BULLETIN #12 – April 3, 2020
I hope you and your family are well and that you found some time to rest and enjoy the spring break. We know that for many of you there have been cancelled holidays, missed family gatherings, and unexpected changes to daily routines. Throughout all of this, it is hoped that you have been able to spend time as a family making the best of these very unfortunate circumstances. As you are aware, with the suspension of in-class instruction,
how we do our work is going to be very different for the next while. Here at McNeely we will be continuing our focus on relationships..
Please know that maintaining a healthy and safe environment is the highest priority of the Richmond School District. Safety protocols around how many people can be in the school at one time and increased cleaning schedules are two of the many things that have been put into place.
This week teachers have been using this time to reconnect with the family of each student in their class. The have been checking in to see how your families are doing and gathering information about how we can best support the learning of your children in this time of distance learning. Please keep in mind that teachers are having to re-design how they teach students; learning at home will not look like it does at school. This process will take some time for our teachers, they are putting their time into this right now, and your patience is appreciated. Teachers have been recording which families may need access to a device to assist with distance learning (like an iPad) and we will share more information with you about this procedure when the processes have been put into place.
Pick Up of Essential Items
Please see the other letter attached in this email about Essential Items pick up. It will begin Tuesday, April 7th.
Please note that during this time of uncertainty we plan to increase our bulletins to a weekly basis. With next Friday being a holiday, you can look for it on April 9th but typically these will now come out every Friday.
Update From McNeely’s Library
Mrs. Mills has been working hard and has updated many portions of the online library. I will have more about this alongside next weeks bulletin. In the meantime, our school’s library website is a great place to go for learning.
