BULLETIN #5 – October 9, 2020

Join the PAC; Zoom Meeting

Are you interested in being a part of the McNeely PAC this year? What is the PAC you ask?

The McNeely PAC meets once a month-this year we will be meeting online on Monday nights. These meetings are open to any parent/guardian of a student attending McNeely School. We encourage all parents/guardians of McNeely children to attend these monthly PAC meetings to find out what you can do to further support your children at school. If you are a parent at McNeely School you are a member of PAC.  Here is the opportunity for all of us to continue to

build and strengthen the partnership between the parents and McNeely staff.

All parents at the school are welcome to join the PAC. This year, due to Zoom, joining the PAC has never been easier. The second PAC meeting will be happening via zoom on Monday, October 26thstarting at 7:00 pm. Our PAC president for this year is Jovan Renshi. We will be establishing future dates for PAC meetings at this meeting and this information will be shared out.

Zoom info for Monday October 26th : Meeting ID: 659 7328 6544.   Please call the school for the password.

Library Newsletter
Please see the attached newsletter from Mrs. Mills about the happenings in the library.

Walk to School Wednesday

Wednesday, October 28th will be McNeely’s Walk to School Wednesday date for 2020. If you normally drive to school that day, please see if you can walk, ride your bike, scooter or something to school that day instead

Strong Start Up And Running

Ms. Jindy would like me to share with our McNeely Families that the Strong Start Program (for children aged 3 and 4) has officially opened.

You can find Ms. Jindy in our school at door 31. She would also like to let you know that StrongStart can happen both in person or via zoom.

Upcoming Conferences

This year parent-teacher conferences may be looking a little bit different. On October 20th we will still be having an early dismissal. Teachers have sent home communication about how they will be doing their conferences this year. Some may be by phone, some in person and some via zoom.

This year, Friday, October 30th will be Hallowe’en at McNeely Elementary. Students can wear their costumes that day as Hallowe’en falls on a Saturday this year. We will not be having our usual pumpkin carving in the gym due to COVID 19 but we will still have a costume parade for our primary students in a socially distanced manner outside the school so that classes can see the younger students’ wonderful costumes through their windows.

Since outside food does not meet health and safety standards during COVID, please do not send any food with your children to share that day.

Did you know that the word Hallowe’en is a contraction that comes from the original saying, All Hallows Evening and so it is a letter “V” that is missing?
