It is February, 2019, and our school is having Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences.  In many classes, students are doing the work, showing their parents what they have been learning in the first half of the school year.

At our school, we believe that it is students who need to be doing the work of learning, and that teachers can skillfully facilitate that learning.  We are looking for evidence that making thinking and learning visible will improve our students' confidence in their own learning.  Our hunch is that giving students the ability, skills and tools to explain and their own learning will help them become deeper, more powerful thinkers, able to communicate and share ideas and knowledge.
