This week our grade 6 and 7 students went to Camp Elphinstone.  In the four days that they are there, students will have potentially life-changing experiences.  At camp, they have so many opportunities to accept challenges, take calculated risks, show leadership, be mentored by each other and the excellent camp counsellors, learn things about themselves they did not know, and be inspired.  At camp, students bond with new friends, they play hard and they gain a little independence and maturity.  They bring back shared experiences, inside jokes, new songs and rituals.  The grade 7's in this community of students will go on to high school with improved confidence and self-esteem. The grade 6's will become valued school leaders in Spetember. We wonder - how can we make the rest of the school year a little more like camp?
