Day of Play
Last week many classes particpated in the Global Day of Play. Here are some student's words about the occasion.
Siena: I did enjoy it. We got to express our creativity with play. I played a Bounce Connect 4 game Ms. Ewart brought from home. I was practicing bouncing a ball accurately. Then I played Clue. In Clue you have to really pay attention to wat people say and do. One simple clue can solve the whole mystery.
Brianna: I played Jenga. I had to use skills to guess what the actions and reactions there would be when moving the blocks. That's Newton's Third Law - for every action there is an opposite reaction.
Anmol: I was playing soccer with my friends. It was fun because everyone was playing fairly. Some people were not that good at it, including me, but I noticed I got better. We also played Monopoly, Battleship and Twiester. We had to make plans, use strategies, be cooperative and competative. I think it was a good idea to bring play to school. Some kids don't get a chance to play, to communicate, relax and have fun because their lives are too busy and stressful.
