Learning Outside
In the past teachers have expressed some nervousness about student behaviour when learning outside. Without the four walls of the classroom, will student run amok? Will they take advantage of the increase in space to disregard instructions and do their own thing? We have found in our recent experience that these fears are groundless. Most of the time, most students are their best selves when learning outside. They are more curious, more patient, have more stamina for learning. We thinks this is strong evidence to support learning in alternate invironments.
