To further inform our school focus of connection and belonging, our staff engaged in a scanning survey to share thoughts, observations, and wonders about our school focus. As our staff continue to get to know one another better and continue to work together to support our learners, a staff scan was a timely next step to gauge how our school focus is unfolding and what further supports may be helpful to move us forward. 

Our staff observed that our students are move receptive to adult support, supportive of younger and new students, and are happy to be at school. A greater sense of student accountability has also been noticed. Students are also observed to be more engaged in their learning and taking more responsibility for their own learning. We continue to support students with self-regulation and making peer connections as a next step.

From the scanning data, our staff are looking forward to professional development opportunities and working with the District's Curriculum/Teacher Consultants to further their own learning in order to support our students to connect and belong as part of the McNeely community. Our school and community events have also been observed as a wonderful way to build connection and belonging amongst students, staff, and families.
