Hearing Student Voices. Where to next?
Staff had time to reflect on and discuss the data trends from our Student Voice Survey at our January Pro D. Staff also met for Collaboration Time that day and to share observations from their classes and connections between the student voice data, and also thoughts on "Where to next?" In the share-out that followed, it became apparent that we may be on a trajectory to shift or expand on our school story focus to include a focus on Literacy skills. Implementation of a school-wide reading assessment is being planned in order to identify, plan for, and support our students' strengths and stretches in the area of Literacy in a coordinated, intentional, and cohesive way. The data would be collected three times in the school year to inform reading instruction in classrooms and targeted support for our at-risk or struggling readers.
